I grew up on the south side of Chicago in Stickney Township now known as Burbank, IL. I attended Reavis High School and my major was math. I got a job at Time Container just out of school and attended Devry Tech in Chicago. I was working full time at night and school during the day. I was fortunate enough to have great bosses who gave me opportunities to move up. After about a year and a half of school I got a chance to interview at IBM. I found I could get a job there after graduation but it paid much less than I was currently making so I decided to leave Devry and stay with the corrugated industry.I continued to work in the corrugated industry but decided I needed more income since I had a family now. An opportunity arose thru a friend that got me on the police force. I worked the midnight shift 8 hours every other night. I loved the job and stayed for 3 1/2 years. Another opportunity came up as a shift supervisor at Packaging Design Corporation. I knew the owner of the company and was happy to accept. I was at Packaging Design for just under 7 years.I was offered the opportunity to be the Plant Manager at Yorkville Packaging. After about 4 years the company was sold and consolidated into Jet Age Container. They offered me the position of General Manger at Jet Age Container at that time. I became very involved in sales in the years I was there. I was there for just over 18 years when the company was sold. The owner of Packaging Design heard about this and called me to see if I was interested in coming there as a salesman.I accepted his offer and am happy to still be here. We do so much more than just cartons. We design and manufacture corrugated point of purchase displays and retail packaging. It is very satisfying to see your product in stores. I have been in the packaging industry for 53 years as of 2019. Looking forward to 5-10 more. Great industry- Great people!!
