Participation in First Robotics Competition (FRC), a dynamic international design challenge, stoked my insatiable desire to problem solve and create solutions that improve the lives of people worldwide. Combined with my avidity for the sciences, engineering quickly emerged as an exciting pursuit. As a mechanical engineering student, I thrive on dissecting multi-faceted problems and elucidating novel stratagems through a hands-on approach. When engaging in projects, I employ interdisciplinary skills throughout the design process, from facilitating interactions with clients, to optimizing solutions, all the way to relating key lessons learned to others. My past microbiology research experience has helped me develop a keen attention to detail and taught me the importance of interlaboratory collaboration. Similarly, my engineering classes continue to develop my innate intuition in determining viable approaches and the plausibility of solutions. Others have taught me to be thorough in my design, thinking of a product’s entire life cycle and designing its interfaces to be used by many, as opposed to a few. Additionally, numerous leadership experiences have helped me gain skills in leading teams, enabling me to better empathize with others and coach them to achieve their full potential. Ultimately, I strive to be an engineer who can anticipate failure and design appropriate tolerances, but also a constructive team member who can work at all stages of the design process. As a whole, I jump at every opportunity to gain new knowledge and channel my endless curiosity into learning about the mechanics of the natural world. Recent examples include coaching a rookie FRC team, managing a team to produce from the ground up a small prototype electric dragster, and collaborating with a large team to produce an amphibious robot. Even outside the labs and classrooms, I often find myself daydreaming of new permutations of current projects while out rock climbing or engaging in riveting philosophical debates with my peers.

Extern – Engineering & ManagementHarry'S, Inc. Jan 2022 - Feb 2022RemoteAs an extern, I interviewed several program, project, and product managers along with testing and RND engineers about daily processes, professional experience, ideal workplace skills, and constructive mindsets. I also produced a sample development timeline with co-dependencies for a consumer product and received feedback in my desire to learn more about being a part of management. -
Student GraderLafayette College Sep 2019 - May 2021Easton, PaHandpicked by the professor, I graded weekly assignments for an intermediate materials science class (ES 231 Natures of Materials). I provided constructive feedback for students as needed across the 15-20 problems in each set, including mathematical analysis and short answer style questions. -
Solutions Architect InternBroadcom Inc. Dec 2020 - Feb 2021San Francisco Bay AreaWhile rapidly self-educating myself on data center SAN management and best practices for storage networking architecture, I developed technical presentation materials to assist in ongoing sales negotiations and future cold calls. Further, I advanced internal company resources for marketing operations and introduced new software programs as potential tools of interest to my supervisors. In developing an understanding of common sales challenges I have gained an appreciation of how early design choices during product development can affect key features and concerns of customers in future sales operations. -
Research InternHarvard Medical School May 2016 - Sep 2017Greater Boston AreaFor two summers, I performed translational microbiology and immunology research in Higgins Lab in the investigation of the use of genetically modified bacteria to treat or prevent viral infections in healthy cells. During my experience, I became proficient in microscopy and image manipulation using a spinning disk confocal inverted microscope, growing cell cultures, growing bacteria, and manipulating DNA. More broadly, I gained experience in experimental design and lab presentations, consulted with veteran researchers and professors in co-ops and also toured the start-up company Genocea Biosciences to gain insight about translating research into clinical practice and entrepreneurism.
