Handpicked by the professor, I graded weekly assignments for an intermediate materials science class (ES 231 Natures of Materials). I provided constructive feedback for students as needed across the 15-20 problems in each set, including mathematical analysis and short answer style questions.

While rapidly self-educating myself on data center SAN management and best practices for storage networking architecture, I developed technical presentation materials to assist in ongoing sales negotiations and future cold calls. Further, I advanced internal company resources for marketing operations and introduced new software programs as potential tools of interest to my supervisors. In developing an understanding of common sales challenges I have gained an appreciation of how early design choices during product development can affect key features and concerns of customers in future sales operations.

For two summers, I performed translational microbiology and immunology research in Higgins Lab in the investigation of the use of genetically modified bacteria to treat or prevent viral infections in healthy cells. During my experience, I became proficient in microscopy and image manipulation using a spinning disk confocal inverted microscope, growing cell cultures, growing bacteria, and manipulating DNA. More broadly, I gained experience in experimental design and lab presentations, consulted with veteran researchers and professors in co-ops and also toured the start-up company Genocea Biosciences to gain insight about translating research into clinical practice and entrepreneurism.
