Support Union Pacific's intermodal operations at a public/private ramp within Mexico and be accountable for asset performance, terminal dwell, and other planning activities necessary to execute Union Pacific's intermodal service plan.Job DutiesDirect all empty asset movement (containers, chassis) necessary to meet load projections and customer demand. To be conducted in conjunction with Union Pacific's US operations and Commercial direction.Check prefiles and pedimentos and send left behind reports to intermodal customers daily. Empty repositioning moves via rail within/from MexicoMonitor, authorize and audit various charges that are received from railroads and other third party vendors )Perform daily inventory reconciliation to ensure Union Pacific's IT system matches actual physical inventory on hand at ramp.Assist with Maintenance and Repair functions to supervisor vendors, validate charges, and perform semi-annual equipment inspections required under Mexico regulations.Coordinate activities with vendors, other ramp personnel, and customers to address hot loads, left-on-ground and left-behinds, and pedimento distribution.Identify and report on weekly equipment needs and repositioning activity. Manage asset utilization with proper fleet sizing and cycle time reduction.Interface with intermodal intermediaries, customers, and motor carriers regarding shipments and utilization. Manage performance of terminal vendors by tracking KPIs and other metrics used to identify customer service, asset utilization, and terminal efficiency.Oversee empty drayage and storage ramp-to-ramp and to/from other possible CYs. To include auditing, billing, and performance monitoring. Position will establish relationship(s) with Motor Carriers and other third parties.Oversee exception management issues such as miss-outs, flips, short-stops and other delays that affect customer service.
