Throughout my experience as a student, I have consistently encountered new challenges. They came in the form of handling various projects simultaneously, adjusting to new dynamics with every new team for each new project, and learning to live for a period of several months in a foreign city. With each experience, I believe I have further enhanced my ability to successfully address the new challenges that lie before me. I have grown to be detail oriented in my work, which has been especially helpful in constructively critiquing my own ideas or those of a partner in order to weed out potential pitfalls. In addition, I have grown accustomed to a fast pace of the work, which demands a quick familiarization with a given industry or issue so as to be able to deliver useful insights. Most of this work was done in the context of a team, so I am comfortable with the dynamics of a team—knowing how to both assume responsibilities and how to delegate when necessary. Lastly, my experiences have enabled me to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. With every successive presentation I gave, I grew stronger in my ability to fluently communicate my thoughts before an audience. And after having spent a total of 10 months living abroad in France, I have gained the skills to survive in unfamiliar environments. As I begin my professional career, I recognize that my experience is limited and that there’s much still to be learned and improved upon. Still, I am eager to share what I have gained and to be a productive, impactful member of any future team I may have the pleasure to find myself a part of.
