Provides instruction on stroke techniques, mechanics, and direction in skill improvement, as well as offering nutritional, psychological, and physical advice to improve an athlete's quality of swimming. Works closely with swimmers of advanced swimming ability to succeed in a high-level competition environment. Creates swimming sets that optimize stroke improvement, physical endurance, and skill practiceIs trained as a certified USA swim league coach, with focuses on nutrition, stroke mechanics, set building and planning, athlete physical and mental performance, SAFE SPORT, and others.Communicates with parents & swimmers, organizes swim meets and event lineup, manages other administrative duties pertaining to the northern Rhode Island branch of Kingfish Swimming.

Responsible for assisting in behavioral neuroscience research in collaboration with Professor Christina Reppucci and two additional student peers. Responsible for understanding the purpose of the research, and after training is responsible for 1) the basic handling and care of rats, 2) conducting behavioral testing, and 3) preparing, staining, mounting, and imaging brain tissue. Also responsible for 1) conductingstereotaxic surgery under Professor Reppucci’s direct supervision, 2) drug administration through the surgically implanted cannula, and 3) euthanization of the rats at the conclusion of the study.In addition to the hands-on research duties above, expected to attend weekly lab meetings to discussand plan on-going research projects with the rest of the research group, as well as journal club meetings where expected to lead small-group discussion about a primary research article.

Lead Resident Advisors (LRAs) fulfill many roles while performing their duties. An LRA will accomplish Resident Advisor duties such as planning developmental and social programs for a diverse group of students who live in college housing (residents), act as peer advisors, and help to meet residents’ educational, interpersonal, and social needs, furthermore creating an inclusive living community with deep relationships built on interaction, awareness, trust, mutual respect, and a sense of fellowship and accountability.LRAs confront unsafe and unfitting behavior and assist in enforcing Residential Life and College policies. LRAs are role models, educators, and community builders with additional administrative duties.Additionally, LRAs are intentionally selected to be resource leaders and advisors to their RA peers because of their extensive experience in a residential leadership role. LRAs also specifically manage staff development and community development.

Responsible for maintaining physical safety of members in an aquatic setting. Perform first aid/ water rescues when necessary- First Aid/CPR/Water safety certified. Assess swimming skills of children ages 5-14 and develop lesson plans to instruct various water safety/ water strength and endurance skills.
