What is it that makes me tick? Knowing what it’s like to have to communicate in a language other than your native language, I get a great feeling of accomplishment from helping others improve their English communications skills and enhance in their careers.‘Sorry, you don’t have experience’… does that phrase sound familiar when looking for a job straight after university? I heard it only too much, and after a year of that I decided to leave England to explore opportunities abroad, and that’s when I landed in São Paulo Brazil. Understanding how difficult it was to communicate in English I decided to start learning Portuguese and at the same time teach English. Just to see the improvements the students had with their communications skills really gave me boost in wanting to continue down this path. Moving away from traditional English classes and teaching methods, I decided to create my own and work as a freelance English teacher teaching business professionals.I’m the founder and Head Language teacher at First Choice English, teaching English to a range of business professionals and general English learners. My job is not only to teach English to all the students but I also make sure the learning experience for the students is both smooth and problem free to enhance their learning.What I am most proud of is hearing my students tell me that they landed a job because of their ability to communicate well in English. English as any other language is not easy to learn, but the sense of accomplishment I feel when I know that I have done my part for this student is incredible. Not only can he progress in his career, but also the company he works for can also progress into the international stage of business.All of my students have different targets they set to for themselves, and I focus on their targets. Creating personalized classes for them and watching their progress, I am an open person, easy to communicate with and attentive to my students needs. Every student is different, so therefore I plan and organize an English course specifically tailored to them. This will give them the extra focus they need to improve the areas of English that need to be most improved.
