The course focuses on obtaining a thorough understanding of the material and being able to apply it to unseen situations, and the students in my groups, on average, scored better than the majority of the class.

I served as a Research Assistant in the Neuroscience lab of Dr. John Morrison, Dean of Basic Sciences at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. I was trained in a variety of research techniques including immunohistochemistry, compound light microscopy, and electron microscopy. I also conducted an independent research project on the localization of a specific receptor in the post-synaptic membrane. In my final summer, I worked on optimizing software that measures the sizes of different brain parts in MRI images.
