A fast paced, managerial role in the retail food sector requiring strong leadership and managerial skills, effective communication and the ability to work in high-pressured situations. I manage a small team, tasked with round the clock replenishment of fresh produce, as well as the responsibility of ensuring the smooth running of the wider store – making sure specialised computer systems are kept up to date by completing daily audits of stock, merchandiser tasks, compliance checks and frequently stepping-up to the role of Duty Store Manager, often without notice.Even though this has been my first managerial role, I have been able to build upon the skills acquired through my previous retail experience in order to work as effectively and efficiently as possible. As with all new experiences, there is always something learn – in this particular role, I have learned how to make effective decisions when under pressure, the ability to actively listen and how to manage a small team successfully.
