Engineer
Worked as an airframe engineer taking calls from AMTs when an aircraft was out of service due to damage that was outside of general manual limits. Once provided with appropriate data and damage specs, I would find more specified manual limits that were applicable to the damage, or reach out to the aircraft manufacturer, in order to provide the necessary repair instructions to the AMTs. The majority of calls were when an aircraft was already boarded and awaiting takeoff, so all problems needed to be resolved within approx. one hour, further adding to the urgency.Authored multiple Engineering Authorizations that provided instructions to AMTs, as well as certification to comply with FAA regulations. These projects included (but were not limited to) the replacement and upgrade of radio altimeters on Airbus 319, 320, and 321, the replacement of Emergency Location Transmitters on Airbus 319, 320, 321, and Boeing 737, 777, and 787, and compliance with CAT 1, 2, and 3 landings effected by 5G signals on Airbus 319, 320, 321, Boeing 737, 777, 787, and MD-80.
