Mr. Hui works as the Lead System Architect on a small Pega project for a state agency. The project's goal is to create a small internal case management application using agile methodology using Pega 8.2. His responsibilities include leading the development team, mentoring new Pega developers, and developing the application. Since the product owners are not familiar with Pega, Mr. Hui also acts as the business architect and assist the product owners in developing user stories and the business solution. At the conclusion of the project, the application is well received by the stakeholders and the state developing team has taken over to put on the final touch before the first release.

A multi-year project that the client has awarded to CGI to modernize the existing systems with additional functionality that will be possible through expanded data capture and data availability.In the early phase of the project (till 12/11), Mr. Hui, as part of the infrastructure team, was responsible for: understanding, analyzing the hundreds of software used in the project; ensuring there were enough licenses to cover the work; working with the client to managing the software licenses; assisting in software contract negotiation; drafting the infrastructure and architecture documents; manage relationships with all software vendors; facilitating and coordinating all infrastructure roll-out for the imaging solution contractors. Mr. Hui was a key figure to have the project infrastructures available in a timely manner.From 01/12 to 05/12, Mr. Hui was part of the Technical Architecture’s Business Process Management team. After received training on PegaRules Process Commander (PRPC), Mr. Hui was responsible to create a prototype of the case management system and communicate with the IBM Initiate to retrieve demographic data. From 06/12 to 09/13, Mr. Hui was the lead of the Tech Arch Security team. He was responsible for: designing and implementing application security using the Oracle Identity and Access Management suite; ensuring works were completed in time and on budget; managing the scope of work; making sure applications are following security best practice. When Mr. Hui took over the team, the team was 3 months behind schedule. Under his leadership, the work was completed on time.Post the security team, Mr. Hui was leading a team of Pega developers to implement business rules to validate incoming complex structured documents.Mr. Hui is the BPM practice lead in the Sacramento CGI office and is responsible for: promoting the usage of BPM in Sacramento; assisting other projects to use PRPC; establishing a close working relationship with Pega Systems.

As the senior developer of the Business Utilities team, Mr. Hui was responsible for: the development of system functionalities; working with other teams to develop common functionalities; requirements clarification, use cases development, creating and presenting the object data model and user interface diagrams to the end users; developing and maintaining the application code using technologies like J2EE, Struts, Hibernate, and SQL in DB2; assisting his manger to develop the delivery schedule, manage the team, and deliver the code to the system testing team; mentoring other team members in their design and coding efforts; conducting code reviews to ensure the code followed the coding standards and were of high quality; working with the whole application development team to identify and improve the application performance by re-design the application; and working with the database team to tune the database.As a customer support staff and subject matter expert, Mr. Hui was responsible for: communicating with the end users regarding their complaints/feedback; helping the end users to workaround any existing system defects or limitations; investigating system problems; coordinating with the Application Development on fixing system defects; and working with environment team to identify and resolve environment related problems; facilitating a smooth transfer of design artifacts and functional knowledge to the client. Mr. Hui’s effort resulted in faster turnaround times for defects, and less system down time.

The project involved customizing an audit management application to satisfy the requirements of this particular client.Mr. Hui has taken on several roles in this project. His primary responsibility in the project is to design, develop and modify the multi-tier application to the client's requirements. The modification involves database structural changes and code changes in PowerBuilder, SQL, VBA and C in both UNIX and window environment. Mr. Hui is also responsible for building the application to be deployed in New York. Further, he has taken on the task to improve the system performance by making changes in PowerBuilder, SQL and on the Database. Mr. Hui is also involved in mentoring new team members and providing system test and production support. Most recently, Mr. Hui has taken on the role as the Graphical User Interface Team Leader. Mr. Hui is an expert in the PASS Architecture, especially in the PowerBuilder piece. He is responsible for assigning modifications and defect changes to the GUI team and overseeing the development efforts to make sure it is completely in time and in good quality.

The project implements the modeling piece of the Professional Audit Support System (PASS) application. The application is modified to work with Siebel Case Management System. As an expert in PASS architecture, Mr Hui is consulted on various technical design issues. His effort concentrates on providing feedback and feasibility studies on the technical design. Mr Hui is also responsible for conducting code reviews during the initial phase of development.

As a GUI team member, Mr. Hui is responsible for the design and development of GUI components in PowerBuilder 7.0 and Database Stored Procedures, by following the MVC architecture. His primary responsibility in the project is to correct the assigned defects to enhance the stability and robustness of the online application. Mr. Hui is required to identity, implement, and test the fix before handing it over to the System Test team. He is also responsible for providing system test support by implementing new requirements and improving the system performance.

The client has contracted with AMS to implement the Professional Audit Support System (PASS) for the City. The initial phase of this project involved converting the PASS application to a new set of technical platforms. The database was changed from Sybase to DB2/UDB. The Unix platform was changed from HP-UX to IBM/AIX.Mr. Hui's primary responsibility in the project is to convert the Check-In Check-Out (CICO) process to the new platform. The CICO process is a 3-tier process that allows an auditor to synchronize the case and case unit data from the Central Database to the Database on the auditor's desktop. In addition, Mr. Hui also modified the Multiple-Hit UNIX C program and many components in the GUI application to the DB2 environment. The changes require Mr. Hui to implement code changes in PowerBuilder, SQL, CLI and C in both UNIX and windows platform. In this project, Mr Hui has also helped several new team members in learning the PASS architecture.

Mr. Hui's primary responsibility in the project is to correct the assigned defects in the Pass-through Entity Automated Screening and Support System. Correcting a defect includes identifying and documenting the problem and the proposed fix, implementing the fix, and testing the fix before handing it over to the System Test team. His effort will include changes in the GUI implemented in PowerBuilder, UNIX C programs and some stored procedure in Sybase Database.

Mr. Hui has worked extensively in the AMS Financial Information System's Uniface 4GL on-line environment and Oracle PL/SQL routing and workflow environment. His concentration has been on the development of application enhancements and code corrections covered under AMS's warranty agreement

Hui was both the project manager and the chief system designer of a Database system. The DB will automate the manual process of logging, storing and retrieving of information. The new system will also be able to perform searches and generate statistics and reports for both sections. He had to plan and maintain the project schedule, conduct meetings with team members and the client. Keeping track of the status of the project team was his main job. Mr. Hui was required to conduct meetings with the clients to collect requirements and clear up design issues. It was also the responsibility of Mr. Hui to follow the IEEE software development cycle standard and satisfy the Federal Government's data standard and security requirements. Designing and implementing of the Relational DataBase was also the primary job for Mr. Hui. He was also involved in coding, designing the user interface and conducting presentations and tutorials.

CEDAR ProjectMr. Hui is working as a HTML Programmer in the agency for the CEDAR project. The project is to convert printed materials like brochures, newsletter and agency's rules and regulation into web pages, so that the public can access the information through the Internet. His duties included converting brochures and MS-Word documents into HTML format and designing web pages.
