As part of the READS Lab, I used R to manage the Lab's database while building and maintaining automatic reporting tools that retrieved and processed information from the database. Using R, I cleaned, prepared, and analyzed the data we collected to support the Lab's research work.

•Collaborated with economists at the TPL in partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) on a quantitative research project studying the effectiveness of the TWC’s distribution of COVID-19 relief funding to childcare providers •Evaluated patterns in childcare funding using R, analyzing datasets on 13,000 childcare providers from across the state •Identified ways to distribute funds more equitably and communicated findings to the TWC and other researchers

•Wrote a report for the Harris County Election Administrator’s Office on the implementation of Drive-Thru Voting in Harris County during the 2020 General Election (the report was cited on May 29 during the Texas State Senate floor debate on SB-7) •Met with community stakeholders and public officials to understand the issues facing election administrators •Compiled and analyzed the electoral and demographic data of 1.6 million Harris County Voters using R •Utilized GIS tools to conduct spatial calculations and visualize voting patterns in Harris County •Wrote, fielded, and published a survey on Harris County residents’ experiences with Drive-Thru Voting

• Assisted in preparing effective campaign strategy by gathering, analyzing, and presenting information• Analyzed opponent’s donation history and past votes using the R programming language• Utilized GIS software to analyze past precinct voting patterns to form the groundwork for an effective voter outreach plan

• Planned and organized student outreach events and educated students on local government• Created and implemented a voter registration and GOTV plan, registering over 100 new voters and increasing student turnout by 320% from the previous Houston Municipal Election

•Planned, organized, and ran student outreach events, including a successful campaign rally on campus •Registered 300 new voters and increased turnout at Rice University by 400% from the previous midterm election •Hired, trained, and managed junior fellows and campaign volunteers •Served as a liaison between campus political groups and the statewide campaign
