Over the course of my 10+ years of working in the Jordan's Furniture DC, I managed to participate in nearly every aspect of our receiving & distribution processes. I am a fast learner, and was often assigned to train/mentor peers whether they be new to a specific position, or brand new to the company. I was always first in line to volunteer for cross-training or other special projects.During my 5 years working as the company’s sole Inventory Auditor, I came to appreciate the importance of providing clear communication, and building strong business relationships; a major part of the job was recruiting & directing borrowed labor from other departments, and I found those to be key traits when training, and managing people, especially those who don't report to me in an official capacity. I participated in Kaizen events related to Quality Control, Inventory Returns & Receiving in the DC, and was instrumental as a team leader in a bedding accessory Kaizen for the Stores/Satellite Warehouses; as a result of my participation in these meetings, I am always re-evaluating my own processes & practices by thinking lean, and by eliminating waste wherever possible.As Showroom/Warehouse Operations in our New Haven store, I was responsible for interviewing, hiring & training a warehouse team comprised of 8 full-time & 3 part-time associates, as well as 1 showroom coordinator. I was responsible for leading my team in assisting with the movement of merchandise into the store, and ultimately for overseeing day-to-day showroom & warehouse operations.In 2016, I relocated back to Massachusetts, where I accepted the role of Showroom/Warehouse Assistant in our Avon Store; duties include completing showroom moves and replacements, as well as working at customer pick-up, and assisting with the clearance operation.
