Lead and assist on projects related to early cancer detection and personalized cancer therapy. These projects include the development of single cell omics technologies, drug delivery vehicles, advanced microscopy techniques, and computational image analysis methods.

The focus of my PhD was to develop large volume, 3D microscopy imaging tools and apply them to understand tumour physiology and nanopartile transportation within tumours. I have developed imaging and labelling techniques, and a set of image analysis tools to automatically analyze 3D microscopy images of tumours. These tools allow researchers to measure and map the location of different cells, blood vessels and administered nanoparticles within the tumour. My goal was to leverage this technology to improve our fundamental understanding of how tumours function as 3D tissues, and to use this information to personalize nanoparticle therapies for the specific physiology of a patients tumour.

Lead research and development projects aimed at developing novel magnetic nanoparticles for use in immunomagnetic cell isolation products in STEMCELL's EasySep™ product line. Specialize in the characterization and biological interfacing of nanoparticles.

Worked to understand the physical relationship between a calcium dependant protease involved in the regulation of the dopamine transporter under the supervision of Dr. Frank Lee in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Co-operative education position working in research and development on a project evaluating the effectiveness of lipid nanoparticle based siRNA delivery directed at novel gene targets. Moved preclinical candidate formulations from evaluation in cell culture systems to testing in rodent models of disease.
