I am a physician-scientist who focuses on systemic sclerosis (SSc, scleroderma), rheumatoid arthritis, and other related connective tissue diseases. I did my undergraduate and medical training at Ohio State University and completed my medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship training at Northwestern University. I came to the University of Rochester in 2018 where I have built a translational scleroderma program which includes an SSc-focused specialty clinic, establishment of a patient registry and biorepository, and a basic science laboratory. The lab is translational with a focus on mouse models of disease, mechanistic studies related to fibroblast, endothelial, and myeloid biology, genomics, and has an aim toward developing therapeutics with translational applicability. We have a variety of clinical, translational, and basic science projects ongoing in both SSc and RA and collaborate widely both within URMC and nationally.
