Mailroom Trainee, Executive Assistant, Talent Agent
Los Angeles, Ca
Starting in the mailroom, I organized the work files of over 500 clients and was responsible for keeping an accurate record of all inbound and outbound client materials. As Executive Assistant to the Vice-President of Talent I was an extension of my supervisor's office in all of her day-to-day operations. This included, but was not limited to: maintaining a steady flow of communication between agents, managers, attorneys, casting directors and talent through email and phone interaction; managing client calendars and workflow; training newly hired assistants on our 4-D organizational software; and developing and maintaining relationships with everyone I interacted with on a daily basis. As an agent I used the relationships I had developed to procure work and guide the careers of over 150 clients. My personal responsibilities included: actively pitching to casting directors, producers and studio executives via phone, email, and face to face interaction; regular contract negotiation of SAG and AFTRA terms; and conducting continuous market research on industry trends, emerging new talent, and new project developments and script releases. My role within the agency continued to expand as I began to be our sole representation at a variety of comedy venues around Los Angeles. This led to my involvement in the rebranding of our agency and complete restructuring of our client pitch meetings and method for seeking out new talent.
