As an undergraduate student, I have interned with Professor Donald Schaffner's in his food science lab working on the dining services project for 3 years. This includes going out on food audits to check local Rutgers ran food facilities checking if they are up to standards and testing food and bring samples back to the lab for testing. Working in the lab to perform various tests such as listeria testing, plate counts, CFU counts, and more. In addition to this includes the preparation of various growth mediums and distributing them. Along with this comes with glassware management and maintenance and ability to use multiple tools and lab machinery.
