People and Plants 🌱 My career started with a Horticultural Apprenticeship back in 1992. After six years in that industry, I received an invitation from a friend to apply for a role in the warehouse of the retail chain Kathmandu. This was to be the first role of many in a career spanning over 20 years in procurement and supply chain management. For the bulk of that career as a procurement professional, I applied my skills and knowledge to support the delivery of health services across three of Melbourne’s major hospitals. Currently, I am a student at the Ikon Institute of Australia, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy after completing a Diploma in the same field. As a budding psychotherapist, I support myself and meet my creative needs by running a small gardening business. Horticulture is my first career and first love. I can see a future of serving both people and plants. My career has been driven by a passion for meeting people and building relationships. This has helped me successfully manage and develop collaborative partnerships with a wide and varied range of stakeholders. I’ve had the opportunity to lead and mentor teams and individuals, ensuring their growth and success. My own journey through relationships, parenting, sobriety and life has inspired me to further my education in Counselling and Psychotherapy. With my professional and lived experiences and training, I aim to help clients heal, grow, and live more happy and fulfilled lives.
