~ Worked out of the Marshall, MI Transportation Service Center~ Inspected asphalt paving, cold milling, crack and chip sealing, sub-roadbed placement, concrete pouring, hydro demolition, bridge reinforcement, and traffic signal installment~ Oversaw the rehabilitation of a bridge over I-94 with little supervision, interpreting blueprints and making design adaptations to fit the bridge as previously built~ Ensured that all electrical and structural parts were correctly installed for traffic signal work according to blueprints and specifications~ Performed nuclear density testing on sub-roadbed as an MDOT certified density technology worker~ Computed and reported the amount of work completed daily - used to determine how much work the contractors were paid for~ Worked individually with little supervision on smaller projects, and as part of a larger inspecting team on large projects~ Construction project values ranged from hundreds of dollars to millions of dollars worth of work, including part of a $13 million project on I-69.

As a staff photographer for the nation's most circulated yearbook I photographed everything from student events to NCAA Division I sports.
