In this role I oversaw and managed a team dedicated to making sure immigration applications were registered as quickly as possible. Whilst dealing with large volumes of applications, it was extremely important that the information we were processing was correct; obviously high levels of quality were expected.My key responsibility was to manage a team of 11 people. Processing holiday requests, organising training and making sure team members were happy and working to a good standard. Interpersonal skills were key here. Each day I would have a meeting with my managers to discuss targets and current output. As it was a busy period and a very new team, a lot of our resources were directed towards a good training scheme. Although this impacted productivity initially, the benefits of having a knowledgable & competent workforce after 2-3 weeks meant that targets were consistently met or exceeded.

This position required me to handle sensitive data and documents as well as provide a high level of service for customers. There was also a firm expectation to work quickly and efficiently with this data, inputting it into the system in large volumes. We were expected to meet daily targets which were dependant on the amount of hours worked. I had to learn how to use the new system and then provide thorough assistance and training to various team members and the feedback I received was highly positive. For instance, the system was being updated and I was one of the first to gain access, therefore I had to learn extremely fast and pass my knowledge on to colleagues clearly. I have maintained high levels of responsibility and have prided myself on being approachable and friendly in order to assist wherever I can.
