I spent over 15 years in various operational and turnaround environments at manufacturing companies in the US, China, and India. In each of these companies, I implemented techniques like Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and drove continuous improvement initiatives. This resulted in operational transformation and a corresponding revival of these companies financial health.However, I became fed up with the way that tools like ERP, QMS, PLM, CRM, CMMS, and just Excel sheets totally ignored the need for deep cross-functional collaboration and engagement across the organization. These failures especially impacted collaborative knowledge processes like Sales, Contract Review, Product Development, Quality Management, Vendor Management. I believe that this resulted in a great deal of time, errors, and risk to the organizations that I was involved with.In 2017, I decided to do something about this and founded Unifize with a friend who had been running his own food processing plant and felt the same way about existing software tools. Together, we built a software platform called Unifize that helps manufacturing companies make their existing processes more collaborative using a friendly, chat-based tool.
