I have studied the mechanism of multi-electron, multi-proton transformations of small molecules at transition metal centers. Specifically, I have experience in:* Catalytic nitrogen fixation* Photocatalytic reduction of nitrite * Electrocatalytic oxygen reduction. * Hydrogen evolution reaction Most of my research effort has been focused on the use of spectroscopy and computational methods to study catalytic reaction mechanisms. In particular, I have been interested in studying the interplay between separated proton and electron transfer (PT and ET) and proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) and the role these reactions play in dictating the efficiency and selectivity of catalytic processes.
