I am providing professional support to existing Winnipeg Metis Association Inc. projects and identifying and developing new initiatives for the increased well being of the Winnipeg Metis community. My job is to ensure that all current programs or projects are carried out according to agreed upon schedules, and within proposed resource levels. I ensure that all programs and projects are current with the essential progress reports and communications. I further ensure that all efforts and opportunities are available to the Winnipeg Metis community, including the Manitoba Metis Federation, Winnipeg Region Locals, affiliates, community programs and partners including participation in meetings and consultations.I verify that all resources and opportunities to improve the quality of life for Metis people in Winnipeg are accessed. I develop or establish relationships with governments, funding agencies, community organizations, and foundations for the purpose of increasing access to resources to further those goals.I maintain a healthy employee team within the Winnipeg Metis Association by coordinating and planning informative employee meetings and special events.I implement an effective community communications strategy for reporting project and initiatives.I ensure effective and efficient communications management by following-up on all communications as it applies to projects and initiatives.

1. Responsible for coordinating recruitment activity for junior to mid-level position in the organization and ensures a competent and effective workforce.2. Provides consulting services to management and staff on straight forward human resource/labour relations issues in order to meet the overall needs of the College while maintaining positive labour/management relations. This involves ensuring that the collective agreement, labour legislation and College human resource management policies are administered consistently and fairly. 3. Assists with providing supportive employment services which includes facilitating return to work plans (sick leave, LTD, WCB) and workplace accommodations. 4. Assists with providing labour relations services relating to grievances, facilitating discussions to resolve minor disputes and investigating minor complaints. 5. Assists in the delivery of job evaluation ensuring consistency and equitability. This will involve assisting the HRC/Classification Specialist with the coordination and facilitation of job evaluation for bargaining unit positions. 6. Participates in the development and implementation of human resource management programs such as succession planning, organizational reviews, etc.7. Assists with employee onboarding.8. Responds to employment and career opportunity inquiries from the staff and the public. 9. Research, analysis and report development. 10. Assists with the development of policy and procedures.

The job description for an RRCSA executive includes:a) be in in office for a minimum of 20 hours a week (Vice President), or for a minimum of 30 hours a week (President) while the SA offices are open; b) Attend SAB meetings and executive retreats;c) Conduct all meetings in accordance with a thorough understanding of the Articles of the SA and of Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised;d) Have knowledge of, and report to the SAB on, all activities of the SA;e) Serve as the liaison between the SA and the College’s standing committees, as required by the Executive Committee;f) Transition the incumbent Executive Officers prior to leaving office, as per the Transitioning Executives Article;g) Be a current student, registered in course(s) at Red River College;h) Conduct research and investigation into matters pertaining to member concerns;i) Promote all SA events and services;j) Be responsible for the progress of each committee they are the chair of, and report on this progress to the SAB; k) Have a clean criminal record for the past 5 years; andl) Perform any alternative duties appointed by the SAB or Executive Committee.In addition the RRCSA President Shall:a) Perform duties of an Executive Officer, as appointed by the SAB, in the event an Executive Officer is absent, ill, or incapacitated;b) Have the right to be an Ex-Officio member of all committees and sub-organizations of the SA;c) Act as alternate Chair at SAB meetings;d) Act as Chair of the Executive Committee;e) Be responsible for the work of the Executive Director of the Association;f) Serve as the liaison with the administration and faculty of the College;g) Manage and organize all media relations; andh) Be responsible for managing all media relations in consultation with the Executive Committee.
