Summer intern serving as an inspector on a $2.5 million, three span bridge project in Tipton, PA. Responsibilities included writing daily PSA journals, recording the work progress of the contractor and making payments as work was completed. Oversaw work to ensure contractor followed the Structure Plans and worked within the 408 specifications. Assisted in several concrete placements by recording concrete test results into the Concrete Inspectors Daily Record Book and calculating the cement to water ratio, all while following the Cement Concrete Quality Control Plan. Assisted and performed inspection of spall and deck repairs on Bellwood and Frankstown Bridges in preparation for epoxy overlay on bridge decks. Prepared Items Quantity Book for an upcoming abutment and pier protective coating project. Also, formulated square foot pay quantity calculations for both abutment and pier structures. Office work included, but was not limited to conducting contractor wage interviews, checking payment calculations, and filling out material slips for materials used on the project site.
