Paid position drafting weekly columns concerning issues of campus life for UCSB students. Previous topics have included voter registration, student majors, and the Millennial Generation. In this position, I work with student editors and University officials to create a finished product which the Princeton Review ranks 9TH among university newspapers nationwide.

Served the financial interests of the university by reaching out to parents and alumni, explaining which student programs rely on their generosity and encouraging them to donate. In the course of 2 months, I raised about $2,000 over the phone. Skills developed in this period include resilience, persuasion, communication and articulacy.

A paid internship under the direct supervision of Focus College Marketing, but for the benefit of General Mills Inc. I served with one colleague as the UCSB arm of a nationwide guerrilla marketing campaign designed to acquaint college students with BFAST breakfast shakes. Responsibilities included event organizing, social media marketing, photography, logging, reporting and teleconferencing. When the campaign finished in mid-April 2014, our campus finished in the top 5 nationwide, ahead of both Harvard and Duke.
