Rf Product Engineer

Current

San Jose, California, Us

I'm Ben and I'm the Primary product engineer for LitePoint's products: IQxel-MX and IQxel-MW7G, secondary product engineer to IQxstream-5G, IQxel-MW, and IQxstream-M.I work closely with all of our contract manufacturers (CMs) to optimize our functional test yields and ensure our released products meet specifications, and I help resolve unexpected PCBA and system-level production issues.I play a key role on both the production and service of our products.I am the engineer who ensures CM synchronization, and I report the status of our CMs on a weekly basis. When test cases fail in our factories, I am one of the primary engineers responsible for ensuring solutions are implemented quickly.I have taken both IQxel-MW7G and IQxel-MX from New Product Integration (NPI) to Sustaining, and I've resolved many production issues to ensure all shipped units meet Litepoint's product specifications.Recently I have trained and begun managing our debug technician who repairs our RMA boards.

Fpga Ic Design Analysis Intern

San Jose, Ca, Us

I worked on the Static Timing Analysis team where I converted large amounts of Simulation Timing Analysis Data into easy-to-interpret Excel Spreadsheets. I learned some of the FPGA architecture at the level of Logic Gates, and became familiar with some of the corresponding Industry and Xilinx-Specific terms and processes. I spent the majority of my time writing tools using Perl that would automatically generate spreadsheets from the data with a simple click of a button; I was successful in completing these tools by the end of the internship.

Associate Engineer Intern

Hunter Technology

I Performed troubleshooting on a 20GHz synthesizer requiring both hardware and firmwareanalysis. I delved deeply into VHDL debugging using both simulation and hardware analysis, coding and recompiling of software. I’ve performed fault analysis on data and power lines, and used spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and multimeters. I’ve been exposed to high frequency measurements and distortion products of gain stages and frequency mixing (eg. Harmonics, saturation, IP3, LO/RF mixing). Upon completion I was credited as a major contributor within the project.I also learned to test PCBs by operating a Flying Probe Tester, and became familiar with the PCB fabrication process.

Waterjet & Cnc Machine Operator

Sacramento Edm & Waterjet, Inc.

I operated CNC machinery in order to manufacture custom parts for companies such as: Schilling Robotics, Aerojet, and Intel. I spent most of my time operating a Waterjet, in which parts would be cut from 0.10"-3" thick materials such as 6061 and 5052 Aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, wood, etc. During this time, I learned to safely operate all machines, and make offsets after inspection results, which I performed using calipers, micrometers, gage pins, and Go/No-Go Threads. After cutting parts on all machines, I was required to sand and debur all sharp edges using an electric sander, burr whip, grinding wheels, vertical sanders, and various files. I was also required to use many tools such as a utility band saw, router, dremel, drill, wrenches, etc.
