As a medical scribe, I document, in real-time, all aspects of patient interaction with the ER Physician including physical exams, history of present illness, medical/social history, and all pertinent information to the treatment of the patient. I am also responsible for recording radiology results, disposition of the patient, procedures performed by the physician, and many other details surrounding the treatment of the patient. The job is very high paced and requires dedicated focus, knowledge of basic medical terminology/ abbreviations, medical software proficiency, and a propensity for multitasking without error.

I began a private tutoring business at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville after a couple semesters as the first Organic Chemistry Supplemental Instruction Leader at the Student Success Center. I began due to popular demand and soon realized that I could benefit many of the students much more in a one-on-one session so I created posters, a website, a scheduling system, and promoted my services via social networking and referral based marketing. In the past year, I have tutored nearly 40 students for well over 200 hours combined.

I was hired at the Student Success Center to create the first section of Organic Chemistry SI sessions in a pilot semester. The program exploded, and I had some of the highest attendance of all the other subject sections within the first semester. The job consisted of designing and holding biweekly peer-led study sessions, creating worksheets, holding test reviews, and meeting students in office hours to help them succeed in this notoriously difficult field of study.

Volunteered as a Golf Ranger at Williams Creek Golf Course for about 6-7 hours a week, keeping up the pace of play and helping golfers with carts.
