About Benjamin Nutt

Throughout my life, whether within higher education or my past work experience, I have taken on roles which push my problem solving and adaptability to my limits. Whether in my industrial placement year at IBM, creating a new start-up business or managing multinational business contracts as a ‘Brand Manager’, my interpersonal skills have been under constant testing. From these experiences however, I have completed over twenty successful food-sampling shows, one successful year at IBM and a business, which attracted over one thousand unique visitors in its first two months. Therefore if you are looking for somebody who will challenge the business ‘norm’ and operational processes, then I am the candidate you are looking for. My passion for customer services has led me to working in the IT and Food and Retail sectors for over 7 years and a multitude of innovative and prosperous companies.     - During my placement year I had the opportunity to work within IBM and the placement scheme in which they offer. I worked within the Business Continuity Disaster Recovery side of GBS and acted essentially as an Asset Manager. I worked primarily at organising, tracking and allocating IBM assets to particular people and sites. I created a new tracking system and worked closely with a team of over twelve site managers. This meant engaging over the phone and making regular site trips. By allocating and finding key assets in the business, we were able to save thousands of pounds a year by allocating costs to particular customers. - I also worked as a compliance administrator in the technical engineering side of the business. My role involved ensuring all documentation attached to new product releases were compliant with all internal procedures. This meant working closely with a team of experts and relaying information to the management team. This meant organising regular management meetings that could be hosted in London or Warwick.
