At Mariposa County I am responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, and continuing improvement and use of the County's GIS. I primarily use ESRI software including Pro, ArcGIS Online, Survey123, Collector and more to develop innovative GIS applications and databases; maintain existing and new data layers and databases; lead GIS projects; perform spatial analyses and processing tasks; utilize GIS programming languages such as Arcade, SQL, and Python; and collaborate with other internal and external GIS professionals to efficiently deliver GIS products, applications and services. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with ESRI software, Office 365, Photoshop, and some AutoCAD.

At WSB & Associates, Inc. I specialized in building and managing GIS databases for use in ArcGIS desktop, ArcGIS Server applications and integration with Asset Management Systems, as well as on-site implementation. I developed data standards and data models and set up domains; integrate data from various sources, including AutoCAD. I interpreted civil engineering record plans and GPS-collected data; and performed tabular and raster analysis. I managed data in various formats, including ArcSDE, and provided technical support and high-quality cartographic mapping. I became proficient in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

As a Biological Science Technician I researched the rare and declining California Spotted Owl (Strix occidentalis) for the Sierra Nevada Research Center (SNRC) - a division of the US Forest Service - in the rural northern Sierra Nevada mountains of Plumas County, CA. I aided in the installation of a massive call-station survey network across thousands of acres of National Forest land, in a primarily mature forest ecosystem with steep slopes and deep, narrow ravines. The majority of survey points were surveyed from low maintenance logging roads, while others were more remote and required alternative means of access including ATV, snowmobile, snowshoeing, or hiking (occasionally mountain bike). Deft topographic map reading skills and GPS knowledge were imperative to performing the duties of this job.I was responsible for identifying breeding pairs of California Spotted Owls (in addition to other owl species) and recording the GPS coordinates of nest trees, roost locations, and visual or auditory detections. When required and feasible, Spotted owls were captured using various techniques and banded with unique US Fish & Wildlife Service serial number on one foot and a unique color-coded band on the other foot. This color-coded band allowed for the repeat identification of owls without re-capture.Also, to monitor for West Nile Virus and other diseases the captured birds had blood drawn and tested.
