Mmm... let me try🍂My work within civil society began with working within the social welfare system in Ghana where I advocated for children's rights and ensured their protection. I worked with the Probation Unit of the Department of Social Welfare, working closely with the Accra Magistrate Court on family welfare, child's rights protection and juvenile cases.🍂Doing this drove my passion for charity and community development, helping marginalized and deprived communities to build capacities for basic life skills and empowering them to pursue economic and social activities that build their lives and society.🍂Now, I spend most of my professional time working with parliaments and parliamentary monitoring organizations (PMOs) across Africa to support the promotion of parliamentary openness-transparency, accountability and inclusion.🍂I coordinate the Africa Parliamentary Monitoring Organizations Network (APMON) that convenes and connects CSOs working with parliaments across Africa. APMON is the mother network of PMOs across Africa, implementing initiatives to strengthen PMOs' capacity to effectively engage their national and regional parliaments.🍂Strong and effective parliaments are core to delivering effective parliamentary democracy, and ensuring that society benefits from the decisions and laws made by parliamentarians. This is why I am dedicated to leveraging networking and community building to help achieve this goal.🍂 I find interest in ensuring that the relationship between legislators and citizens is strengthened and the best way to do this is to explore opportunities for both citizens and legislators to interact, whether physically or virtually.🍂 I facilitate high-level (local and international) parliamentary engagements among parliamentary stakeholders and civil society, including development partners and supporters.🍂 I am a student of parliamentary practice and procedures and legislative politics.
