Represent individuals and business owners in legal matters including, civil rights, employment, real estate and copyright litigation, including cases involving Title VII, the ADA, the ADEA, Illinois Human Rights Act and various civil rights statutes.

The Law and Public Safety Academy is a honors program through the Career and Technical Education (CTE) of CPS that provides students with a unique educational opportunity to obtain high-quality college preparatory education and in-depth exposure to career possibilities in the field of law. Many graduates of the academy go on to pursue careers in law, public safety, law enforcement and criminal justice. The Pre-Law curriculum includes the in-depth study of law. Students are instructed on a wide variety of topics that include juvenile justice, law enforcement, the court systems, family law, criminal psychology and forensic science and crime scene investigation. Freshman students study the structure and operation of the legal system in the United States, the criminal justice system and the fundamentals of trial procedure. The sophomores focus primarily on Constitutional and civil law, and participate in a mock trial where they apply the legal skills they have gained to an extensive fact pattern. Juniors spend the majority of the year learning about and studying criminal law and psychology. In their final year, seniors take part in an Academic Seminar and Legal Practicum/Internship. The final component of the students four-year sequence of law classes is designed to give them real-world exposure through two 13-week internship experiences where the seniors intern in various private sector, government and non-profits entities. Before starting their internships, the students work on their resumes, learn interviewing techniques, professional etiquette, effective communication, problem solving, and take part in diversity training.

Litigator for a small firm with a focus on civil rights and employment law firm, LGBT advocacy, housing, and employment discrimination. Represented litigants in state and federal court, the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Human Rights Commission, the Illinois Court of Claims, the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, as well in various alternative dispute resolution forums.

Litigated multiple bench trials and hearings as attorney and guardian ad litem (GAL) on behalf of abused and neglected minors/wards. Advocated for my client's’ wishes and best interest regarding placement, visitation, services, termination of parental rights in the Child Protection Division of Cook County Circuit Court. Managed a caseload of more than 135.

Educated primary-grade students with special needs with a focus on students diagnosed with autism. Participated in multiple seminars and meetings regarding the instruction of regular education classrooms and least-restrictive academic environment and inclusion-based instruction.
