I am responsible for curriculum implementation and assessment for the upper school of KIPP Ujima Village Academy. This includes using math content meetings as a key lever to improving instruction, observing math classrooms, providing support and feedback, and being a resource in regards to mathematics instruction.

I was the middle school math teacher for Holabird Academy, where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math. I then moved to KIPP Ujima Village Academy where I have taught 7th and 8th grade math.

I was a CEO intern in the office of Student Enrollment, Choice, and Transfers. I worked with the office to prepare trainings on the alternative education program for administrators, in addition to instructional videos for visiting parents and students. I also worked closely with colleagues to prepare a well-received presentation for the CEO and senior staff on how to best maximize the impact of private/public partnerships.

Author of the 2010 Cost of Government Day Report. Presented findings with panel of tax experts on C-SPAN with Grover Norquist, President of Americans for Tax Reform.

I coordinated with the Director of Tax Policy on special projects and assignments, in addition to my regular duties. These included blog posts, creating press releases, tax policy research, contacting stake-holders, and assisting with clerical duties on occasion.

I worked with the Director of the center to evaluate the quality of teaching at BYU. In particular, I worked on a project to video tape students offering their assessment of their coursework while at BYU.

Provo, Utah Area

Co-taught course in political science with professor Kirk Hawkins and other teaching assistants. Assisted in administrative and clerical duties, facilitated study sessions, and assisted in preparation for course presentations.

I instructed 15 young men and women on the essentials of powerful instruction, including how to teach clearly and simply in a foreign language (Spanish). I was responsible for teaching my students how to teach, how to effectively communicate in Spanish, and the moral tenets of the LDS faith.
