As a Junior at the University of Utah, I’m proud to be among some of the first participants in the new Bachelor’s of Bioinformatics program, where I have the opportunity to explore a diverse intersection of mathematical statistics and analysis, as well as the complex biological systems that make us who we are. My passion lies in advancing our knowledge of these systems, specifically those related to human diseases and Molecular Genetic Pathology, with the aim of enhancing personalized healthcare.My journey so far has been shaped by a strong foundation in problem-solving, adaptability, and data analysis.At Human Capital Solutions, I worked with large data sets, turning complex information into actionable insights. I led multiple projects, acting as the driving voice behind process improvements, which helped me refine my leadership and analytical skills.These experiences, combined with my academic background, have given me a unique perspective on how data and biology intersect.Something that has always been my driving force is my passion for learning. I firmly believe that every situation is an opportunity to learn and grow not just from my own mistakes but the success of others. With this mindset I am confident in my ability to adapt and thrive in any environment and while my academic and professional experiences have been built on determination, I know that none of my accomplishments would be possible without the support of mentors and opportunities I’ve been fortunate enough to have.Outside of my academic and professional pursuits, I’m a classically trained cellist, an avid gym-goer, and a half-marathon runner. I also enjoy woodworking and sailing 2 man catamarans, all of which have played a role in shaping me and fostering creativity. These hobbies have taught me discipline, resilience, and the importance of balance, which I bring into every aspect of my life.I’m excited about the future of bioinformatics and am always looking for ways to connect, collaborate, and contribute to this rapidly evolving field.
