I am currently studying International Business at heriot watt University. In the course I have to complete assignments in groups in Global management where having to compare two different companies and their management models, strategies and challenges, Academic skills in which we were tasked to create a presentation on a journey to mars and Discovering business to create a business in a simulation. In these I have demonstrated my ability to communicate with other individuals and quickly gain strong relationships with other individuals which then helps me with my future planning in these types of situations and then I am able to put forward my own ideas that may help a team in future assignments or jobs that i may have. Having done Accountancy and finance and learning about overheads in a business and budgeting i have obtained skills such as strategic planning and problem solving in a business like world. Strategic planning can be extremely helpful for me in the future by laying out a set plan for achieving my goals, objectives, but also setting clear priorities and defining specific action steps that i can create and look back on. I can increase and improve my efficiency by having increased my problem solving skills and my strategic planning. Being Experienced in retail with my Job at ASDA, I have learned to become more punctual and become more adaptable as I have had to worked in other departments within the store where I have had to adapt quickly on what I need to do on the spot. From these situations I have realised that for the future these skills will help me to deal with change in a rapidly changing environment, being adaptable will help me cope with changes that may occur in my personal, academic, or professional life. Such as facing new opportunities which adaptability can help me keep the door open to new opportunities and experiences, which can lead to personal and professional growth for myself.
