Provide software support for Globalscape's enterprise-level products, troubleshooting networking and connectivity issues as well as doing root cause analysis for software performance issues at a code/hardware level.

My main job responsibility is to test software for medical devices and make sure that they meet software requirements, as well as report bugs found in development code. Additionally, I also write procedures to check software requirements, take physical measurements for hardware tests, and develop Python scripts to facilitate data acquisition.

My main project as a student researcher was to develop a Matlab program that would take in TIRF microscopy footage of e. coli bacteria swimming around, then determine the bacteria's 3D orientation and track their motion over time. The goal of this project was to study the interaction between bacteria and a surface; i.e. how does their motion behave when they transition from a "free swimming" state to a "surface interaction" state. This program involved using physical principles to interpret the microscope footage data as distances away from the surface, and multiple analysis methods to get an estimate for bacteria orientation. Because the data set was so large (tracking over 10,000 bacteria over hundreds of frames), I had to employ multiple optimizations to this program to make it useful. This involved implementing multithreading, memory allocation management (half of one movie from a microscope would occupy nearly 60GB of memory after being processed), and multiple small math optimizations in functions that were routinely called.I presented this research at both the Trinity Undergraduate Research Symposium during the summer of 2018, as well as at the Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium on November 2018.

I held various positions in the Trinity University Physics Department as a student employee, ranging from Peer Tutor, to a Lab Assistant and Grader. I would hold regular office hours to explain physics concepts to intro physics students. I would also attend the physics lab courses and demonstrate how to properly use lab equipment.

My main responsibility was to deliver daily live planetarium presentations to public audiences. This involved explaining large-scale astronomical concepts in a manner that was both entertaining and informative so that people who were otherwise unfamiliar with astronomy would understand. My other responsibilities included greeting patrons at the entrance, operating the cash register, and being a docent around the exhibits.

I acted as a face to the public as a Lifeguard, answering questions about pool policy and operational hours to patrons. I also had to watch over patrons in the pool and jump in to perform active rescues when a medical emergency/drowning would occur. At the time I was certified for CPR and clear water rescue.
