I am a Principal Associate software engineer at Capital One with 4 years of development experience.Since starting my career at Capital One in 2020, I have graduated from their rotational Technology Development Program (TDP), was promoted once to their Senior Associate level, and most recently, was promoted again to their Principal Associate level.Currently, I work as a full stack developer in the Loyalty organization, which encompasses all of Capital One’s credit card rewards programs. I utilize common frontend technologies, including Angular and Typescript, and backend technologies, including Java and Go. I have led a variety of complex projects at Capital One, including fraud mitigation, backend resiliency exercises, and upgrades to users’ Rewards experience. I have also been proactive in my role, as I have advocated for upgrading our aging architecture, created and pushed for new designs in our codebases, and helped to define and lead new projects for my team.I am also passionate about the impact that technology has on the world. Through Capital One, I have volunteered for numerous educational programs, including Coders, where I led weekly meetings teaching middle school students how to code, as well as pro bono, which helps non profits improve their technology impact.I always strive to learn and to apply my knowledge to lead impactful changes.Prior to my time at Capital One, I graduated from Penn State University Main Campus in 2020 with a Computer Science major and a Viola Performance minor. I worked on several projects during my time at Penn State, including LionPlanner, where I worked with a team to develop an application for student schedule planning as part of the Nittany AI Challenge. The application uses artificial intelligence to build a schedule that follows the recommended academic plan for a given student’s major(s) and minor(s) and to recommend electives based on a given student’s interests. My team won the Nittany AI Challenge with this application in 2018.
