I was a US Army nurse that worked in the emergency department, intensive care unit, post anesthesia care unit, and surgical department for a Forward Surgical Team. I was assigned to a unit stateside but eventually volunteered for a deployment to Tallil, Iraq. After I was honorably discharged from the military, I applied my nursing skills as a home health nurse, hospice nurse, and floor nurse. For the next ten years, I worked as a nurse until I resolved to complete a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering.I currently work as a Clinical Engineer in Milwaukee where I manage care of patients with medical devices including: HeartMate II & 3 LVAD, HeartWare LVAD, Centrimag, Impella, Cardiowest Total Artificial Heart, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump, and CRRT devices. I love my job and most often look forward to time I can spend in the operating room for VAD implants or many other procedures I am fortunate to be a part of.When I'm not working, I am hanging with my kids, painting miniatures, disc golfing, drawing, or playing on my PC.
