As a resident assistant in one of the dormitories at Oregon State University my job involves community development, and crisis/conflict response. As a live in position I spend time connecting with my residents and trying to help solve any issues they may have in the hall. I also work with fellow resident assistants to host events and conduct meetings as a part of community development. I am also responsible for upholding community guidelines and preforming safety checks around the hall. Finally, for the days that I am on call, I have to be able to swiftly and calmly deal with any sort of emergencies or crisis that happen within the bulding.

Currently, I am a part time guardsman in the Oregon Air National Guard as an avionics technician. There I maintain and troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems on the F-15C Eagle fighter. From my experience in the Air Force, I have learned many mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.

During this month long internship with Boeing, I learned the proper and safe process of assembling various aircraft components. I also learned how to perform routine maintenance on hand and power tools as well as maintaining a clean shop environment. Finally, I participated in daily safety debriefings on how to improve the internship program.

Worked for the city for two internships, first in 2018 from July to August and then the same time period in 2019. My main project was working on the city’s street light labeling project and their ADA ramp project. Using ArcGIS Field Maps I tracked down and labeled hundreds of streetlights in the city in order to facilitate easier tracking and maintenance. For the ramp project I shadowed engineers and taking gradients in order to fix all sidewalk ramps to ADA standards.
