•Installation and commissioning of SDH, PDH, DWDM, CWDM, Ethernet and Etherline equipment of various manufacturers including Marconi, Nokia, Alcate/Lucent, Ciena, Huawei and Nokia.•Installation and termination of a large array of fiberoptic, coaxial and copper cables.•Conduct end-to-end testing over newly installed circuits using a selection of Ethernet, ISDN and BERT testers to ensure services are fully operational before handing them over to customers.•Carrying out first line routine maintenance on company and/or customer transmission and support equipment.•Analysis, isolation and correction of common and complex issues identified on the network, whilst maintaining circuit availability.•Providing oversight to 3rd party contractors and less experienced co-workers.•Monitoring of equipment reports to maintain network integrity.•Installation, configuration and fault finding a large array of Cisco routers and switches.•Assist technical support and commissioning services for all external activities.•Maintaining contact with various internal departments, external vendors and customers as required; including face to face handling of customer issues, complaints and queries.•Provide a 24-hour fault control facility to ensure all faults are responded to efficiently and within the agreed SLA

•Calibration, service and repair of a large array of electronic test equipment including: digital multimeters, digital manometers, digital thermometers, flue gas analysers and carbon monoxide detectors.•Printed circuit board fault finding and component repair/replacement.•Use of multimeters, soldering irons, signal generators, oscilloscopes and calibration equipment.•Use and control of various compressed gases to test and calibrate different gas analysers.•Providing technical support to engineers in the field through a technical support telephone line. •Processing, packaging and dispatching customer orders.Maintaining up to date stock records.
