Vice President Of Maintenance
Chief Operating Officer (Vice Commander), Regional Hq (6Th Air Refueling Wing)
Serving as the Vice Commander has been the most rewarding and exciting role in my career. I was able to utilize my multi-disciplinary background, work across silos, build teams, grow leaders, influence change, and solve strategic problems throughout the organization and across the community.MacDill is a big base with a critical role...during this time, I was honored to lead a team of 5 executives and 4400 personnel, controlling an annual budget exceeding $250 million, while overseeing capital assets totaling more than $8 billion, to include 24 KC-135 aircraft (Boeing 707), 672 facilities, and directly supporting 16,000 Defense Department personnel.Key to our success was the development of a strategic vision, key priorities, & process improvement to achieve unprecedented resiliency for the Wing’s mission. We earned a top Air Force Installation Excellence Award, therby outpacing 16 other peer Wings and placing in the top 2% of all USAF bases. As we are all having to deal with COVID, our Airmen set the standard. Through careful guidance of the base COVID vaccination efforts, we delivered over 18,000 vaccinations in under 3 months while maintaining 100% mission readiness with no clinic closures. We were awarded “Best Practice” by the Defense Health Agency and named #1 of 15 medical orgs in the corporate structure.Since we live in Florida, Hurricane season always forces a challenge. The active 2020 season provided me the opportunity to direct crisis decision making and recovery actions, effectively relocating 16 aircraft in less than 36 hours (safeguarding a $1.5 billion aircraft fleet) and coordinating with 3 major corporate HQ's and the local community. Finally, development is a critical function for any thriving organization. I'm proud to have guided and motivated multiples VPs to excel in the management of their matrixed directorates that crossed functions spanning operations, maintenance, logistics support, HR, and medical care.
Ceo (Wing Commander), Regional Hq (6Th Air Refueling Wing)
This was an opportunity of a lifetime, as I was honored to step-up as the Acting Commander for MacDill Air Force Base. It was a tremendous role to hold responsibility for the protection of the base, its personnel, and the mission to generate worldwide Aerial Refueling capabilities. During this time, I led the base through MacDill’s response and recovery to the summer 2020 COVID-19 surge, ensuring uninterrupted mission continuity for 24 KC-135 aircraft and 33 Installation partners. This included collaborating directly with the Mayor of Tampa, Congressional Reps, the local community, public health, and County Emergency Managers. Ultimately the team ensured safe, unmitigated access to the base while deploying 195 personnel that enabled 1700 combat missions overseas.

Hey, back in my Vice Commander role again...a huge part of this job could the labeled "Chief Resiliency Officer." This meant directing our HR and Airmen Resilience offices, to include oversight of the base Community Support Coordinator, the Violence Protection Integrator, the base Sexual Assault Prevention and Response office, the Equal Opportunity Office, and the Drug Demand Reduction initiatives. In this "resiliency" lead capacity, I also served as Chair to the Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy Board and also the Family Advocacy Program Board. I ensured unit command teams provided proper support through Victim Advocates, Medical professionals, chaplain, legal counsels, and law enforcement. This was a necessary, and often emotional role, thereby bringing compassion, care, and well-being to over 40 survivors of Sexual Assault and domestic violence. Finally, I chartered and led the organization’s first Diversity & Inclusion Working Group, fostering an organization-wide grass roots effort that directly led to over 75 outreach events and recruiting a 300-person team of inclusion leaders
