With over three years of experience as an Associate Professor in Geomatics at the University of Bergen, I am interested in advancing our understanding of glacial and periglacial environments through a range of remote sensing and geomatic techniques. I use a variety of methods and datasets to characterise and quantify how the cryosphere is changing in a variety of catchments in Norway, Chile, and Nepal.My expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of analytical tools and approaches, such as machine learning, image classification, photogrammetry, structure from motion, and synthetic aperture radar. I have successfully applied these methods to interpret complex geospatial data and quantify cryospheric changes. I am participarly interested in combining various geospatial datasets such as aerial and satellite imagery, unmanned aerial vehicle point clouds, and laser scanning data in order to quantify rates of change. Beyond my research, I have over a decade of experience in education and mentorship at the university level, teaching various courses and supervising projects for Master's and Ph.D. students. I am supervising MSc and PhD projects on topics including photogrammetry, InSAR, and the use of artificial intelligence and trustworthy mapping for creating cryospheric inventories. I am also involved in capacity building and summer schools, contributing to the dissemination and transfer of knowledge and skills in remote sensing and geomatics. I use a variety of open-source and commercial software on a daily basis, covering topics on photogrammetry, image classification, radar data, and python programming. I am always eager to learn new techniques and share my insights with others.
