At the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, I lead the development of a client/server research micro-simulation application. I have been responsible for the identification, scoping, development, testing, and releasing of several major production releases, improving the user experience and run-time of a complex application. I also support various ad-hoc software projects from a variety of teams around the University and manage multiple projects.

At the Center for Translational Data Science at The University of Chicago, I oversaw a variety of activities relating to software support and/or development. I provided analysis, design, development, debugging, and modification of computer code for applications, beta general releases, and production support. I worked on various cross-functional teams that were responsible for cloud services integration, authorization and authentication, and front-end portal development. I also served as a liaison between my team and some of our external clients, helping project managers translate project goals into reasonable and actionable technical objectives.

My work at CICS encompassed the duties of both a Data Engineer and Data Analyst. I designed and implemented a cloud-based data warehouse to centralize several disparate data sources. This project involved evaluating the needs of our users (focused on high-performance dashboard visualizations), designing a normalized database that models complex relationships, building ETL processes to integrate imperfect data from several sources of various kinds, and maintaining critical software services. In addition to leading the data warehousing project, I worked with a small team of analysts to provide dynamic visualizations of high stakes school performance data, as well as emergent, ad hoc reporting, to school administrators. My work provided reliable data infrastructure and analysis to 14 Chicago public schools, the hundreds of school staff and administrators who work there, and the nearly 10,000 students who attend.

As a Desktop Support Technician for the Humanities Division at the University of Chicago, my primary responsibility was to assist Humanities faculty and staff members with a broad range of enterprise-level, computing issues and tasks. I coordinated with a team of technicians to provide quick and reliable assistance to our many users. To this end, I assisted users over the phone, by email, and in person with issues related to: both Mac and Windows operating system configurations, connecting to the University's wireless and wired networks, managing email and email clients, remote server connections over AFP and SMB, a wide array of user applications (Internet Browsers, FTP clients, VPN clients, Microsoft Office, FileMaker, etc.), general computer security, and many others.

As a grader for the Computer Science Department at the University of Chicago, I reviewed student homework submissions for introductory level classes. My responsibilities included managing student submissions via version control software, reviewing student code, and making suggestions to students for how they could improve upon their work. I also created software to automatically test student submissions for correctness.

As a research assistant at The University of Chicago, I provided technical solutions to a postdoctoral researcher in the Goldin-Meadow Lab of the Psychology Department. I wrote various python scripts to search a large SQL database of linguistic data, and analyze the results. I also created several online experiments through the Amazon Mechanical Turk platform.
