In September 2019, my first book 'Opera - een geschiedenis in 27 sleutelwerken' (Opera - a history in 27 key works) was published by Uitgeverij Van Oorschot. It is a personal survey of 27 important works, giving my insights into the music and themes of the individual operas and in doing so charting the history and development of the genre. At this moment, I am working on my second book: 'Sluier van de tijd - het verborgen leven van kunst' (Veil of time - the hidden life of art).

As coordinator, I'm responsible for:- the daily management together with the Chair of NICAS;- drafting and implementing strategic policy documents;- initiating and tracking collaborative research projects;- keeping track of scientific developments within the field;- maintaining and expanding the national and international research network;- organising outreach events, courses and lectures.The Netherlands Institute for Conservation+Art+Science+ (NICAS) is a network organisation initiated, by the division for Physical Sciences of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), the Rijksmuseum (RM), the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE), the Faculties of Humanities and Science of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) as lead partners. Providing a classical view of the world, in the broadest sense of the word. Writing, giving talks and lectures and providing specialized tours about classical music and opera, classical antiquity, and art.

Research:- development of research profile and ambitions;- support of research activities, including PhD-tracks of staff and students;- initiation and coordination of research meetings and symposia;- stimulation (international) research cooperation;- support of proposals for external research funding.Postgraduate track (Post-initial track):- general coordination of the postgraduate (post-initial) course of the training programme;- safeguarding the academic content of the postgraduate track;- contact for external parties (internships, research projects).

Office of the Faculty of Humanities. Management of scientific projects.- Financial management of externally funded research projects;- Policy development relating to research conducted at the faculty;- Organisation and coordination of recruitment of scientific personnel.

Writing articles on the subject of Ancient history and culture (Kunstschrift, OOST) and classical music and opera (Klassieke Zaken, Opera Informa).

Drafted a policy plan for the reassessment of the organisation of the museum, in the light of current developments and future growth.

Individual research resulting in a dissertation entitled "Triumphs of compromise: an analysis of the monumentalisation of sanctuaries in Latium in the late republican period (second and first centuries BC)". PhD awarded the 19th of May 2010.Taught first and second year courses in Roman and Italic art and archaeology dor the departments of Archaeology, Art History, and Classics.
