I work in the BE Catalyst team to help select carbon reduction technologies and to oversee progress of funded projects through engineering, procurement, and construction. My experience across all phases of Capital Project delivery brings improved certainty of outcome (technical, cost, schedule) for BE Catalyst investments. I work remotely from Houston with regular visits to project offices and jobsites.

Exxon Mobil - Papua LNG Project is a 4x1MTA e-Drive LNG expansion project, with new Combined Cycle Power Plant, new Condensate tanks with CALM Buoy loading and supporting utilities. Ben is responsible for delivering complete engineering design, lump sump cost and schedule for EPC execution of the project Greenfield scope. This includes customer interface to manage to scope of the FEED execution with Exxon Mobil.For the PLNG FEED Ben fully developed, documented and executes an integrated schedule across 3 levels (L3 schedule, L4 EPPR, L5 MDR). Project schedule is robust, with clear visibility on critical path.Ben’s daily work supervising engineering disciplines to meet the key milestones requires significant interpersonal skills to keep team motivated and engaged. The Greenfield scope on PLNG has First of a Kind aspects by combining a Combined Cycle Power Plant (power island) with e-Drives in the process units. Ben leads the teams and customer interface to drive aligned technical outcome for Bechtel and Exxon Mobil.

Sempra - Cameron LNG FEED. Responsible for delivering complete engineering design and lump sum estimate of OSBL and Brownfield tie-ins for the CLNG Phase 2 expansion at Cameron LNG Facility (Louisiana). Additional management and oversight responsibilities across the full Geotechnical, Civil, Structural, Tanks and Materials engineering teams. Assigned Engineering lead for integration and conformance to all project permitting requirements.

The Shell Pennsylvania Chemicals Projects consists of and Ethylene Cracking Unit, three Polyethylene units, a Cogeneration power plant and supporting utilities.Ben is responsible for the I&C commissioning scope for two Steam Turbine Generators:• Management of Siemens Site Technical Service Order (technical, cost, schedule, back-charges, etc.)• Coordination of technicians for loop checks, test records, troubleshooting, repairs, etc.• Technical ownership of work permits to ensure craft safety (Work Authorizations, Job Hazard Analysis, Lock-out Tag-out, Hot Work, Line Breaks, etc.)Ben is the I&C lead for Polyethylene units. Responsibilities include:• Running Instrument and Electrician crews of 30 people to execute project scope.• Interfacing with construction to prioritize and drive handover of instruments to the CSU team• Coordination with General Foreman to drive and prioritize loop check execution• Resolving technical engineering issues with Shell, Emerson and JV engineering partners (Technip, Linde)Ben also took responsibility as the Level Instrument specialist across all project areas. This included engagement of E&H vendor representative for Guided Wave Radar and defining loop check work processes for Differential Pressure level instruments.

Lead a team of engineers to position Bechtel for delivery of digital solutions, in parallel to traditional EPC execution and handover. Team presented executive management information for business review and decisions on:- Customer requirements, Competition and Supplier capabilities on Digital Integrated Services- Bechtel capabilities, for expanding into Digital Integrated Solutions- Information on digital twins, visual interfaces, documentation integration, predictive maintenance, asset management, advanced process control, simulation, production planning and Cybersecurity.

Control Systems Engineering Group Supervisor for Driftwood LNG Project.Tellurian Inc., is developing a liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and export terminal, south of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Once complete, the terminal will be able to export up to 26 million tons of LNG per year to customers worldwide. The project is using Chart mid-scale liquefaction technology with a focus on minimizing capital costs.Ben has successfully led a team of nine engineers and designers, across multiple offices, to execute the following key deliverables and tasks:• Material requisitions, bid evaluations, purchase orders and vendor print reviews for ICSS, Analyzers, Automated Valves, Flow & Level Instrumentation, FGS Subcontract• Development of P&IDs through IFC (including Management of Change Processes)• Development of C&E, Logic Narratives and Complex Loops through IFC• HAZOP / LOPA Action Item Closure and Issuance of SIL Calculations• Mechanical Package Support for all Major Equipment (material requisitions, bid evaluations, vendor print reviews, etc.)• Level setting diagrams• 50% modelling and model reviews• SPI Instrument Index to IFC• Development of Instrument Installation Details• Development of Alarm PhilosophyWith multiple delays to NTP, Ben has completed multiple L3 schedule and EPPR revisions to align activities and job hours with key priorities. Ben has owned and managed the instrument material budget, working through the Design Engineering Change Notice (DECN), trend program and Digital Change Order Request (DCOR) work processes.
