Implementations of Personal Initiative Training and STEP Training in Africa (Egypt, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, The Gambia, Zambia) and Asia (Bangladesh, India).

Research on training transfer and the effectiveness of entrepreneurship trainings in developing countries. Lead the project management of entrepreneurship training interventions (Personal Initiative Training and Student Training for Entrepreneurial Promotion (STEP-Training)) in cooperation with The World Bank in Niger for 2,099 adolescent girls and women and in Burkina Faso for 2,000 small-scale traders. Led project management for World Bank financed project in Tete, Mozambique – “Enhancing women farmer’s personal initiative in rural Mozambique” to deliver a Personal Initiative Training to 740 trainees in 37 communities, conceptualized and adjusted training program for partly illiterate beneficiaries, recruited trainers and conducted train-the-trainer workshops, budget management, monitoring and reporting results. Conducted several one- to two-week PI-Training and STEP-Training Training-of-Trainer (ToT) workshops for groups of 12-20 participants in Eswatini, Uganda, South Africa, Lebanon.

Working emotely for the Sub-regional Office for Eastern Africa (SFE) at FAO in the area of agri-business skills development, reviewed the draft modules of a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) entrepreneurship training intervention and provided technical input; designed the survey and datacollection plan to carry out the impact evaluation and carried out the subsequent analyses.

Conducted a feasibility study, developed a training curriculum for a Personal Initiative Training for female factory workers in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), and held a 5-day Train-the-Trainer workshop for The World Bank’s Africa Gender Innovation Lab (GIL).

Assisted SMEs from various sectors with trade related issues in the European market. Services mainly included business partner searches and market entry and market development analyses.Planned and executed the Manager Training Program (a 4 week stay in Germany including the arrangement of business meetings, training courses, and cultural events) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi, www.bmwi.de/en) and the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit, www.giz.de/en)) for a delegation of Mexican entrepreneurs (www.managerprogramm.de/en ).
