I was part of a team gathering data for models predicting future yield of corn and soybeans for further research. I participated in sampling and phenotypic observations in field and greenhouse experiments. Worked on a long-term Nitrogen analysis determining effects of low nitrogen on silk growth of corn.

I learned the laboratory skills necessary in a molecular Botany laboratory. I performed procedures such as PCR, Miniperp, and DNA extraction from Plants. In addition procedures such as transforming plants and a Two Yeast Hybrid Test were also completed. In total it was 120 hours of experience working under a Masters Student and helping them with experiments and research.

As part of my internship I designed posters and flyers. I also designed a booklet advertising a trip to NY. by the DAI. Other responsibilities included doing research on the US election system and how it differs from the German one, as well as help organize and run many of the events that the organization held including " My favorite American Book: Dennis Scheck talks about American Literature" as well as "Race, Identity, and Discrimination: Young Americans speak up". I was part of a team of people who wrote the end of the year report specifically the statistics section.
