I helped a number of external startups and some of our portfolio companies at veto capital in varying responsibilities. From business and strategy consulting through infrastructure design to data visualisation.

At Bensch Tech we were developing indie games in a small team using Unity3D, C# and Aseprite and managed a small community on discord. What a fun time!

Maintaining ownership of our full web stack from CSS to emberJS through our ruby-on-rails API up to our postgres DB. Responsibility for recruiting and training new frontend developers, coordinating external dev teams and pushing the limits of LiquidMs user facing web application and b2b json API to enable cutting edge ad-tech features to our customers.

I began leading efforts in our frontend project, working for years with emberjs, nodejs and ruby-on-rails. Not only implementing features, but also helping in their conceptualisation. I regularly monitored our (then) +500k rps (~3ms latency) realtime bidding backend. Firefighting dozens of services on hundreds of machines in our bare metal cloud running gentoo linux, provisioned by chef, monitored by nagios, splunk and kibana. I also wrote multiple nodejs services that connected (among others) to AWS services, gmail, druid and postgres; leveraged non-blocking I/O to process data for visualisation and web-scraped and processed tens of thousands of web resources. During that time i regularly contributed back to some of the nodejs and front-end opensource projects we were working with and published a few emberjs libraries that are still in use years later.

I was maintaining various micro-services that made up our real-time-bidding system in ruby - Working with, among other infrastructure, zeroMQ, redis and druid. I helped integrate with APIs of dozens of external partners and worked closely with product management to implement new features in our backend and ruby-on-rails frontend, TDD whenever possible.
