As a research scientist I am working out of VA Puget sound in the Center for Limb Loss and Mobility (CLiMB). I am pursuing several research projects including coordinating two multi-site studies, focusing on the customization of research equipment and developing data pipelines for research biomechanical data. Includes the use of electromyography (EMG), insole pedography (foot pressure) data.Some specific accomplishments to date included:- Developed and built a novel uneven treadmill.- Conducting sensitivity analyses on ankle foot orthoses (AFOs) using a custom built mechanical tester.- Advancing the ability to emulate AFOs using a robotic exoskeleton.

As a short term position, within 6 months I designed and manufactured a mechanical tester for ankle-foot orthoses. I also gathered data on thirteen commercial carbon composite models resulting in a first-author publication and conference presentation. I have leveraged this work in my current position, which has led to additional collaborations and research directions, including 4 conference presentations and two publications in preparation..

I leveraged electromyographic (EMG) time-series data collected during clinical treatment of children with cerebral palsy to create better metric of motor control, using muscle synergies. This research involved extensive signal processing, statistical analyses, dimensional reduction and machine learning techniques, and large data sets to better understand the repeatability of these measures of motor control, and advance the clinical applicability of muscle synergies.- In this work I partnered with clinicians at two children's hospitals.- Proven track record of executing goals and timelines with 5 first-author journal publications (over 200 cumulative citations) and 14 conference presentations and posters.- Advanced the standard muscle synergy algorithm (NMF) to robustly accommodate partial/missing data.

-Responsible for the installation and routing of engine wiring on the 767-2C.-Designed and managed acceptance of parts to accommodate other assembly teams and integrated product specifications from multiple groups. -Performed sustaining engineering on the commercial 767 and 747 engine platforms.
