I currently lead a team of over 500 people and manage equipment worth over $20 million with an annual cash budget of $280 000. I am responsible for forecasting, planning and delivering logistic support to a Brigade of over 5000 people. This includes the provision of food, water, fuel, maintenance of all vehicles and equipment, transportation of stock and people, and the storage and warehousing of stock.Major Achievements:• I planned and delivered simultaneous support to over 2500 personnel in Iraq, Fiji and Australia during March/April 2016.• I implemented rapid organisational change over a two year cycle increasing the unit from 300 to 500 personnel and fundamentally changing work practices and procedures for all customer units.

Sydney - Forces Command

I was responsible for designing and implementing strategic organisational change across Army. This included engagement with key stakeholders for the implementations of the first major Army organisational change since the 1970s. I coordinated the organisational structure planning by using strategic direction as baseline to incorporate stakeholder requirements, workforce modelling, trade structures, fleet provisioning, organisational hierarchy and directed efficiencies. Major Achievements:• I implemented organisational change for approximately 20 000 positions.• I designed the methodology for the future analysis of Army logistic structures for implementation across the organisation in January 2017.

Sydney - Forces Command

I was responsible for leading a team of five to coordinate the day to day management of Army's reputation. I provided the immediate response to critical incidents, parliamentary responses for the Minister of Defence, media responses and the management of complex or politically sensitive investigations.Major Achievement:• I developed revised organisation wide policy for management of critical incidents across an organisation of over 20 000 people. This ensured strategic direction was met through effective notification and reporting.

Sydney - Forces Command

I lead a team of 13 engineers, dispersed across Australia, managing Army’s engineering support. I was responsible to senior leadership for ensuring Army’s equipment fleets was available in accordance with Australian government direction.Major Achievements:• I developed and implemented an innovative fleet wide plan to remediate Army’s armoured vehicle fleets including redistribution, revised maintenance schedules, alignment between support organisations, formalisation of ad hoc practises, improved repair part provisioning and the implementation of new fleet management policy where none had previously existed.• I reviewed and developed a program for more efficient use of Army’s ad hoc contractual labour force which resulted in a reduction of $3M over three years.

Canberra

Provide the Defence Strategic Logistician with real time assessment of Defence's ability to support international operations, support critical equipment fleets, implement strategic initiatives, make organisation wide improvements to logistic operations, reverse supply chain evaluation, contract performance and deliver a single Defence logistic picture.Major Achievement:I developed and implemented a research methodology for the analysis of qualitative data to inform Defence’s senior leadership of potential strategic logistic issues.

As part of Defence’s commitment to senior management development, I was selected to study at Australian Command and Staff College for 12 months. Fields of study included Strategic Management, Joint Strategic Planning, Critical and Analytical thinking, and Regional Defence Strategy.

Darwin

This was a significant leadership role commanding 85 Defence personnel and contractors to deliver maintenance support, heavy transport, medical support, catering and logistic supply to a unit of 400 people.Major Achievement:• I conducted the logistic planning to equip and deploy 400 people to Iraq. This involved the training of personnel, defining equipment requirements, conducting the movement plan for personnel and cargo and coordinating the movement of personnel from Australia through Kuwait to Iraq.

Sydney - Special Operations Command

Conduct logistic planning for Special Operations overseas deployments and exercises. Provide technical engineering advice to support specialist Special Operations equipment.Major Achievement:I conducted the logistic and movement planning for the deployment of the Special Operations Task Group to Afghanistan in 2005. Within a four week period, I successfully devised the deployment’s support personnel requirements, and the logistic and maintenance plans and instructions.

Melbourne - Army Headquarters

Implement the new technical management policy across Army.Provision of engineering advice for the development of Army’s technical regulation policy.Major Achievement:I provided the engineering and technical advice for the Safety Case of the F88 Austeyr after a fatal accident. The Safety Case resulted in significant changes to the weapons training and handling procedures, making the rifle safer to operate.

Provide project management, systems engineering and technical consulting to clients, including Defence, the National Australia Bank and Transurban.Lead, administer and resource a team of engineering specialists.Develop tenders submissions and negotiate contract specifications.Major Achievement:I planned, configured and implemented the installation of upgraded incident monitoring cameras in the Burnley and Domain Tunnels in Melbourne for Transurban. Through modelling, I determined that a significant number of cameras were required to be installed to cover the visibility gaps caused by the insufficient initial installation of cameras during the tunnels construction.

Melbourne, Australia

I devised and implemented plans for the modification of wine production procedures at Southcorp Wines, BRL Hardy, Orlando, Beringer Blass, in order to improve each winery’s thermal efficiency. The project was part of an energy efficiency initiative sponsored by Department of Industry, Science and Resources.

Melbourne, Australia

• I introduced the first Victorian Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Waste vehicles for the City of Melbourne. This project included extensive modifications to the original vehicle chassis at a capital cost of approximately $1.3 million and included the installation of Melbourne’s first CNG public refuelling site, driver and maintainer training, workshop modifications and client presentations. The use of CNG as an alternative fuel was expected to reduce fuel consumption by approximately 35% and greenhouse gas emissions by 9.4 tonnes annually.• I rationalised the Moreland and Moonee Valley vehicle fleets by allowing vehicle sharing between the fleets, modifying routes and adjusting work hours for an annual saving of approximately $100,000.
