As Principal Engineer my main role was design and project management. I also carried out feasibility studies and supervised technical due diligence in order to appraise technical and commercial viability of projects. I also planned, scoped and then implemented construction projects. As well as technical design delivery, I was involved in the day to day management of the team. The team had approximately 8 engineers and interfaced routinely with the other disciplines within the company. I regularly worked with structural engineers and in multi-disciplinary teams. Whilst at GFWA my main project was the Finucane Island Port Upgrade in Port Hedland, WA for BHP this was a $7 Million project and involved construction of sheet pile retaining walls and ground anchors for an excavation 30m deep, 100m long by 50m wide.
