Advanced to introduce SIMOA ELISA instrument into lab, establish research core, and lead daily lab operations. Oversee clinical research for PIs within and out of Grossman Center, including investigators at university, encompassing neurodegenerative biomarker studies in diverse populations. Lead research projects associated with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Develop novel biomarker assays for proteins of interest, human blood, and CSF testing. Manage all aspects of intricate SIMOA ELISA instrument/tool. Oversee and support team of 3 technicians. ✔ Advanced neurology research by establishing and leading SIMOA Research Core within Grossman Center, including delicate, state-of-the-art SIMOA ELISA instrument and 3 technicians. Partnered with Quanterix to obtain machine, secured funding, participated in training, built assays used within center, and promoted core to university investigators.✔ Increased lab efficiencies and maximized research productivity through streamlining workflows, developing and implementing new protocols, redefining roles, and creating work schedules. Introduced new equipment and identified new collaborators/partners to facilitate training and enable improved performance.✔ Championed all aspects of advanced research projects, including hypotheses origination, experimental design, grant writing, experimental implementation, data analysis, data presentations, and future steps. Based on success in completing experiments, publishing papers, and writing grants, promoted to continue conducting research on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, specifically postmortem human brain studies for neurodegenerative biomarkers. Reviewed scientific journal articles; contributed to several scientific paper publications. Trained and mentored grad students and technicians on various projects.
